Job summary

TC Energy is seeking a skilled Compression Engineer to support compressor stations and balance of plant equipment. You will analyze mechanical systems, perform root cause investigations, and design cost-effective fixes for urgent problems to ensure reliable operation across facilities in North America.

The role emphasizes safety, project scoping, design reviews, and collaboration with field teams, management, and external resources. Hybrid work model offered; travel may be required.

Qualifications

• BS or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 6+ years experience with natural gas compression facilities or similar equipment.
• Demonstrated dedication to safety.
• Ability and initiative to work independently, display creativity, and exercise sound judgement.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; ability to coordinate with field teams and third party resources.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Operations on day-to-day issues at assigned compressor stations.
• Conduct root cause analysis investigations.
• Provide sound engineering to determine cost-effective solutions to urgent problems such as compressor startup problems, shutdowns, faults, contamination, and piping problems; ensure safe operation.
• Identify, scope, estimate and engineer 'break fix' projects to repair failed systems.
• Identify, scope, estimate and engineer capital and maintenance projects for long-term solutions.
• Provide diagnosis, support repairs, and root cause analysis for significant failures and abnormal operation events.
