Job summary

The Cx Field Technician II at Robert E. Mason & Associates, Inc. will independently perform installation verification, startup, testing, and commissioning of PLC-based control systems for data center and mission-critical customers.

You will collaborate with engineers, contractors, and customer personnel to ensure quality and timely project delivery. Travel to customer sites is required (approximately 80–90%), and you will mentor junior technicians while supporting QA/QC, field wiring, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
• 3+ years in electrical controls, instrumentation, or commissioning.
• Experience reading P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and network diagrams.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites (80–90%).

Responsibilities

• Independently execute field commissioning activities including point checkout, device verification, startup support, functional testing and issue identification.
• Lead or perform point-to-point verification of control wiring, field devices, PLC I/O, and interfaces.
• Troubleshoot 24 VDC, 120 VAC and low-voltage circuits; diagnose wiring errors and device failures.
• Verify analog signals (4–20 mA, 0–10 V) and digital I/O operation.
• Read project documentation to support field verification and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain punch lists and track corrective actions.
• Support Level 2-5 commissioning activities as assigned.
• Coordinate field activities and provide technical guidance to trainees.
• Review test records for completeness and accuracy.
• Maintain safety, quality, and customer requirements on active sites.
• Travel to customer sites to support QA/QC, startup, commissioning (80–90%).
