Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Lead PLC Controls Technician to oversee field execution, startup, and commissioning of advanced automation systems within mission-critical data center environments. This hands-on leadership role requires troubleshooting complex PLC systems, coordinating field technicians, and ensuring seamless integration of PLC, SCADA/HMI, and industrial networks across nationwide projects.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience with PLC controls and industrial automation.
Proficient with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, Siemens TIA Portal.
Strong ladder logic and I/O troubleshooting skills.
Experience with SCADA/HMI and protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, BACnet, OPC UA).
Experience with startup, commissioning, functional testing, and system troubleshooting.
Experience leading field teams or coordinating commissioning projects.

Responsibilities

Lead field technicians through PLC installation verification, startup, commissioning and turnover.
Troubleshoot PLC programming, I/O, networks and control sequences.
Support SCADA/HMI integration, redundancy, and failover testing.
Review PLC programs, drawings, and commissioning docs.
Coordinate with engineers, PMs, contractors to resolve technical challenges.
Oversee field quality, safety compliance and project closeout.
Mentor technicians and provide technical leadership.
