Job summary

City of Louisville, CO is hiring a Community Services Officer in the Community Development Department. You will patrol for code violations, enforce nuisance, zoning and building codes, and coordinate with building inspectors and planners.

The role requires strong communication, de-escalation, and the ability to prepare reports, issue notices, and follow up to ensure compliance. The position may require after-hours work and emergencies as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year progressive code enforcement experience.
• At least 2 years in a role with high public contact.
• Outstanding customer service and de-escalation skills.
• Colorado code enforcement knowledge preferred; CACEO certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Patrol for code violations focusing on nuisance, zoning, and building codes.
• Coordinate with building inspectors and planners on compliance issues.
• Communicate with residents and business owners to resolve issues.
• Investigate violations and prepare reports; take appropriate action.
• Use city software and GIS to track enforcement cases.
• Research property ownership, permits, and zoning approvals.
• Prepare notices and follow up to ensure compliance.
• Attend meetings and outreach events; may require after-hours.
