Job summary

The Town of Estes Park seeks a Code Enforcement Officer to perform specialized code compliance activities, including education, outreach and enforcement under the Estes Valley and local ordinances.

This position conducts field inspections, processes violations, prepares case files, and may testify in municipal court. A high school diploma is required, with preference for college credit or law enforcement/inspection experience; Colorado driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred: 60 college credits or military experience.
• Experience in a law enforcement or inspection role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage code compliance program with education, outreach and enforcement.
• Provide customer service to the public, contractors, homeowners and business owners.
• Conduct field inspections and investigations for code compliance.
• Prepare case files and testify in municipal court when needed.
• Coordinate follow-up correspondence and site visits.
• Issue notices of violations and citations.
• Maintain records and periodic reports.
