Job summary

B & A Communications is seeking an experienced COAX Splicer to join our telecommunications construction team in the field. The ideal candidate will splice, activate, test, and troubleshoot coaxial networks onsite and with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities include splicing, reading maps, system activation, and ensuring safety and quality in all work. We value dependability and the ability to work diverse shifts in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• COAX splicing experience required.
• Knowledge of CATV/HFC systems and coax construction practices.
• Ability to read cable prints and system maps.
• Experience using signal meters and standard splicing/testing equipment.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Willingness to work days, nights, weekends, or on-call as needed.
• Must pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Perform coax cable splicing, including new construction and maintenance work.
• Install and splice coax cable, hardline connectors, passives, and related equipment.
• Read and understand system prints, maps, and work orders.
• Perform system activation, balancing, testing, and troubleshooting as required.
• Identify and repair signal and connectivity issues.
• Complete aerial and underground splicing work.
• Maintain documentation of completed work.
• Follow safety and quality standards; coordinate with teams.
