Job summary

Olsson in Kansas seeks an Associate Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technician to independently collect construction materials samples from diverse sites and perform tests and inspections to assess material properties and safety.

The role requires frequent travel to project sites, with training at the nearest office before moving to the project location. A per diem may cover travel expenses, and mentorship plus hands-on experience are provided.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to contribute and work well on a team.
• 3+ years of experience in construction observation, inspection, testing, or a related field.
• Valid driver's license with a good driving history.
• The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Associate degree from a technical or four-year school, preferred but not required.
• ACI Grade 1, ICC Nuclear Gauge, or applicable DOT certifications, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Independently collect construction materials samples from various sites and perform tests and inspections.
• Document findings and communicate results to project managers and other stakeholders.
• Travel to project sites beyond office locations, often for several months at a time.
