Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering and Management, Materials Science Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Geology is required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Dependable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented work ethic is expected.
• Ability to work effectively in teams and independently.

Responsibilities

• Assists with field tasks supporting construction materials testing projects.
• Performs construction observation and testing activities with guidance from senior staff.
• Documents site conditions and testing results in daily field reports.
• Communicates changes in site conditions or additional testing needs to the project staff.
• Interacts with contractors, technicians, and project team members on job sites.
• Participates in project meetings with senior staff as requested.
• Begins learning soil classification and testing methods.
• Performs testing on soils, aggregates, foundations, concrete, masonry, structural steel, asphalt, and fireproofing with limited supervision.
• Assists with preparation of calculations, reports, and project documentation.
