Job summary

ECS Limited in Charleston is offering an entry-level opportunity for a Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Assistant Staff Project Manager. You will learn from experienced professionals, assist in field tasks, and begin to understand the life cycle of projects while supporting the team.

You will gain exposure to field testing of soils, aggregates, concrete and related materials, with opportunities to grow into project management.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required.
• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering & Management, Materials Science Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or Geology; PE/PG licensure potential.
• Must have valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Interest in project management, consulting, and business development.
• Functional knowledge of CMT principles and ASTM laboratory standards.
• Ability to work with clients, peers, and supervisors.
• Strong communication skills in written and spoken English.
• Solid understanding of heavy construction safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist staff with field tasks for CMT projects; some office work while learning project life cycle.
• Field testing of soils, aggregate, foundations, concrete, masonry, structural steel, asphalt, and fireproofing.
• Document site observations and results in daily reports using proprietary CMT software.
• Collaborate with colleagues and clients; attend project meetings as needed; inform team of changing site conditions.
