Job summary

NLC (Next Level Contractors) is seeking an experienced Civil Construction Superintendent to lead field operations across active heavy civil projects throughout Utah. This field-based role requires oversight of earthwork, grading, and underground utilities, with a strong emphasis on planning and execution at project sites statewide.

You will manage multiple crews, schedule look-ahead plans, track production and costs, and ensure safety, quality, and adherence to plans and specs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of Superintendent experience in heavy civil construction.
• Strong experience overseeing earthwork, grading, excavation, and underground utilities.
• Proven ability to manage multiple crews and scopes of work simultaneously.
• Understanding of heavy civil construction sequencing and field production.
• Experience tracking project performance and costs against budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field operations across heavy civil projects.
• Coordinate multiple crews, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Oversee earthwork, grading, excavation, and underground utilities.
• Develop and maintain 20-day look-ahead schedules.
• Monitor field production and adjust plans to meet milestones.
• Ensure safety, quality, and site organization standards.
• Communicate clearly between crews, project management, and leadership.
• Read and interpret civil drawings and project specs.
