Hill International is seeking a Civil Inspector in Oakland, California. The role involves inspecting each construction stage up to completion, interpreting plans and codes, and verifying compliance with governing standards.

You will monitor safety on site and prepare Non-Conformance Reports when required. The position requires 5+ years of highway/roadway/utility/transit/bridge/rail construction experience, a civil engineering-related degree, and Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30-hour eligibility.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• 5+ years of project experience in highway/roadway/utility/transit/bridge and/or rail construction.
• Able to obtain Cal-OSHA/OSHA 30-hour training certification.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, standards, equipment, quality and safety per State and Federal requirements.
• Strong computing skills including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, SharePoint) and reporting on mobile devices.

Aufgaben

• Inspects each stage of construction up to completion.
• Interprets plans, specifications, and codes and verifies contract work is performed in accordance with governing codes.
• Monitors construction sites for safety violations.
• Prepares Non-Conformance Reports when work is not performed to the approved standards.
• Maintains daily activity logs and reports with photographs.
• Review or prepare interim progress reports for contractor payments.
• Monitors contractor-testing activities.
• Prepares reports on labor, material, and equipment on site.
• Determines construction conforms to plans and specifications.
• Conducts quality surveillance of specific quality related activities.
• Coordinates preparation of inspection survey reports, cost estimates and maintenance records.
• Timely submittals of these reports and records.
