Job summary

PG&E in Antioch, CA, seeks Civil Inspectors to oversee contractor construction activities across substations with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and adherence to PG&E designs. The role requires extensive travel (approximately 90%), with headquarters in Antioch and sites across Eureka, Ukiah, and surrounding areas.

Ideal candidates will have 4 years of journey-level utility construction or supervisory experience, a HS diploma or GED, and the ability to drive and work in varied weather.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in Construction Management or related field
• Experience in utility construction, project management, or supervisory roles
• Strong leadership, coaching, and safety focus
• Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings and managing multiple projects

Responsibilities

• Plan up-front activities with walk-downs, design reviews and constructability reviews to cut costs and boost safety
• Oversee all construction activities for substation projects and related work
• Ensure new equipment forms are submitted to the system of record
• Maintain physical and cyber security of substations during construction
• Coordinate clearance schedules and issue field authorizations for scope changes
• Resolve complex material and engineering issues in construction
• Provide status reports to Project Managers on scope, schedule and cost changes
• Ensure contractors work efficiently and align with PG&E financial interests
• Verify work completion to specifications and coordinate contractor invoicing with Contract Management
