Job summary

SME is seeking a Summer Co-op in Ohio, Michigan, or Indiana to gain hands-on field experience in construction quality control. The program runs mid-May through late November or early December 2027, with orientation, on-the-job training, and full-time SME Team mentorship.

You will interact with construction managers, contractors, and design professionals. Responsibilities include supporting field QC activities and evaluating materials such as soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction

Qualifications

• Computer literacy and ability to use field-related software.
• Must have a valid drivers license and a good driving record.
• Physically able to lift 50–60 lb and work outdoors in various weather.

Responsibilities

• Support field construction quality control activities.
• Assist in the assessment of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other materials.
• Collaborate with SME Team Members and contractors to ensure adherence to project specs.
