Job summary

Horrocks is seeking a Field Engineer in St. George, UT to own projects from start to finish on highways and related infrastructure. You will read design specs, justify changes with the Resident Engineer, and coordinate with contractors.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, EIT licensure (PE a bonus), 0–2 years in transportation engineering, and proficiency in Autodesk/Bentley design tools; MS Office skills are expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• Licensed EIT required; PE a bonus.
• 0–2 years of transportation engineering experience.
• Experience on multidisciplinary project teams.
• Proficiency with Autodesk and Bentley civil design software.
• MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and read design/specs for highways, interchanges, and trails.
• Prepare, justify, and coordinate change orders with the Resident Engineer.
• Lead roadway construction projects with contractor coordination.
• Support project managers with client relations and sub-consultants.
• Take ownership from start to finish focusing on quality, budget, schedule.
• Interface with coworkers to achieve shared success.
• Be onsite days, nights, and weekends during projects.
• Monitor construction contracts and manage personnel and budget.
