Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) is seeking a CPI Investigation Worker Trainee for a mobile, field-based role in Corpus Christi. Investigators respond to reports of alleged child abuse or neglect, gather and assess information, evaluate safety and future risk, and work with families to address concerns and reduce harm.

The job is not office-based and requires extensive in-field work with regular face-to-face contact.

Responsabilidades

• Responds quickly in crisis situations involving children who may be in an abusive or neglectful situation.
• Conducts forensic investigations of reports of abuse/neglect to determine if abuse or neglect occurred and assess risk.
• Interviews people in the case such as parents, caregivers, reporters, family members, and others familiar with the family situation.
• Assesses child safety and takes actions to protect the child as appropriate, including removal when needed.
• Documents all relevant information and completes required forms in a timely manner.
• Gathers family and kinship information to support placement decisions and collaborates with law enforcement, schools, and courts.
