Republic Services is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist I to support hazardous waste removal and on-site operations at customer locations. The role involves packaging materials, assisting with transportation, and maintaining documentation under federal regulations.

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of chemistry principles and practices.
  • Understanding of Federal and State Environmental and Transportation regulations.
  • Ability to perform proper waste sampling; create accurate waste characterizations.
  • Applies basic communication skills to read and interpret general business documentation, procedures, regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, characterize & pack customer waste for final disposal.
  • Assist in safely transporting customer waste per Federal regulations.
  • Help with paperwork: Packing Lists, Waste Labels & Shipping Documents.
  • Support on-site activities at customer locations: inspections, waste collection, inventory management, outbound shipments.
  • Work with team to identify contents via field tests and categorization tests.
