Job summary

WashU Car Wash is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the upkeep, functionality, and safety of car wash equipment across multiple Chicagoland locations. This hands-on, field-based role involves traveling with a company vehicle and performing preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities include inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic systems, plus maintaining records and inventory.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in equipment maintenance and repair.
• Comfortable using common hand tools and power tools.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow equipment manuals, diagrams, and maintenance procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and routine repairs on car wash equipment and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic equipment.
• Inspect equipment and identify potential issues before they cause downtime.
• Assist with equipment repairs, installations, and replacement of components.
• Respond to maintenance needs at WashU locations throughout the Chicagoland area.
• Maintain accurate records of completed maintenance and repairs.
• Help maintain an organized inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies.
• Keep equipment rooms and maintenance areas clean and organized; follow safety procedures.
