Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a billing specialist to manage complex billing for customers under contract terms. You will handle adjustments, verify invoices, resolve discrepancies, and process payments.

This role supports revenue integrity and customer relations within a service-based environment. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, 18 months of billing experience, and solid MS Excel skills, with the ability to follow procedures and communicate professionally with

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• 18 months of related billing experience.
• MS Excel skills at an intermediate level.
• Demonstrated ability to follow standard operating procedures and instructions to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
• The ability to effectively interact and communicate with division managers as well as customers in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly billing adjustments and enter adjustments into the billing system.
• Research and resolve routine and non-routine billing questions and discrepancies.
• Review invoices for completeness and accuracy and follow up to resolve discrepancies.
• May calculate and prepare manual billings for non-routine, complex billing arrangements.
• May gather and summarize supplemental billing information to accommodate customer billing requirements.
• Review billing system reports to identify discrepancies and make corrections.
• Post case receipts to customer accounts and resolve differences or misapplied payments.
• Post payments into the billing system to clear open obligations or prepare remittance advices.
• May accept credit card payments from customers over the phone and process recurring payments.
• May complete customer setup in billing system(s).
• Provide training and support to less experienced personnel.
