Job summary

Velocity Safety Advisors seeks a Safety Advisor to lead field safety on an active project in Franklin Furnace, Ohio. This hands-on role partners with project management to ensure OSHA compliance and a strong safety culture.

You will conduct daily field safety audits, perform risk assessments, and deliver site-specific safety plans and trainings to keep workers safe and compliant on site.

Qualifications

• CHST certification or safety-related degree.
• OSHA 510 or equivalent certification.
• 3–5 years of field-based safety management experience.
• Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to coach and influence field personnel.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the project’s Environmental, Health & Safety program.
• Partner with Project Management and field leadership to plan and implement safety requirements.
• Conduct daily field safety audits and inspections using electronic safety software.
• Perform risk assessments, JHAs/JSAs, and assist with site safety plans.
• Identify hazards and recommend corrective actions for unsafe conditions.
• Investigate injuries, incidents, near misses, and liability events.
• Monitor OSHA compliance and assist with OSHA-related issues and documentation.
• Provide and oversee project safety orientations.
• Deliver weekly safety talks, toolbox talks, stand downs, and pre-shift communications.
• Train employees on Fall Protection, Ladder Safety, Scaffolding, Trenching & Excavation, PPE.
• Identify safety trends and implement injury-prevention strategies.
• Coach and mentor field personnel and reinforce a positive safety culture.
• Attend pre-construction and safety planning meetings; communicate regulatory changes.
