Job summary

Clear Path Utility Solutions, LLC. is seeking an experienced Utility Forester to inspect and manage forestry and vegetation along utility ROWs.

You will perform hazard assessments, plan vegetation treatments, and coordinate with contractors, landowners, and regulators while maintaining thorough field data records. The role requires extensive fieldwork, strong GIS skills, and the ability to work independently in varied weather and terrain.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of utility vegetation management or related field.
• Experience with hazard tree assessments and ROW management preferred.
• Familiarity with ISA pruning practices and ANSI line-clearance standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct vegetation/forestry inspections, tree inventories, and hazard tree assessments along utility corridors.
• Identify, classify, mark, and prescribe vegetation per client specs and IV M principles.
• Evaluate tree health, structure, defects, growth, and species for recommendations.
• Assess environmentally sensitive areas and habitats within rights‑of‑way.
• Investigate vegetation‑related outages and document corrective actions.
• Gather and maintain field data including species IDs, measurements, and work prescriptions.
• Prepare patrol routes, maps, and work packages for daily field activities.
• Use GIS, GPS, mobile apps, and databases to manage field data.
• Verify report accuracy and submit compliance documentation.
• Coordinate vegetation work with contractors and company personnel.
• Audit contractor performance for safety and quality compliance.
• Maintain records per client and regulatory requirements.
• Engage landowners and public stakeholders professionally.
• Promote safety standards and environmental compliance.
• Support emergency response and storm restoration as needed.
