Job summary

Granger Construction invites driven students to join as a field-based Assistant Project Engineer Intern for a structured summer program. You will work with project managers and field teams, gaining hands-on experience in documentation, scheduling, and on-site coordination.

You’ll review drawings, track progress, and attend on-site meetings to see real-time problem-solving and decisions in action, while supporting RFIs, submittals, safety observations, and supplier coordination.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in building construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities with the capability to lead by example.
• Proactive problem-solving skills and a self-starter mentality.
• Willingness to learn new software.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and field teams by assisting in project documentation, scheduling, and coordination of daily activities.
• Review project drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project goals and compliance with industry standards.
• Track and document project progress, including daily logs, material deliveries, and work completed.
• Participate in on-site meetings to gain exposure to real-time problem-solving and decision-making.
• Assist in the preparation of RFIs and submittals to ensure project milestones are met.
• Contribute to maintaining project safety standards by observing and reporting on-site conditions.
• Engage with subcontractors and suppliers, supporting procurement and logistics activities.
