Job summary

Gunnison Copper is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Superintendent to lead the Johnson Camp Mine’s mechanical and electrical maintenance in southern Arizona. This field-oriented role requires ensuring safe work practices, reliability, and cost control while guiding supervisors and planners on a site-based operation.

You will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance across mechanical and electrical systems, coordinate outages with Operations, and drive improvements in equipment availability

Qualifications

• 10+ years in maintenance within mining/heavy industry or equivalent.
• Proven supervisory or maintenance leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience developing preventive maintenance programs and coordinating outages.
• Proficient in CMMS, maintenance reporting, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance supervisors and planners with clear priorities.
• Oversee preventive, predictive, corrective, and planned maintenance across mechanical and electrical disciplines.
• Coordinate weekly maintenance schedules, outages, and major repairs with Operations.
• Ensure work packages include labor, materials, tools, and safety controls.
• Improve equipment availability and lead root-cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Manage maintenance budgets, contractor performance, and repair costs with Supply Chain.
• Strengthen CMMS discipline and use metrics to improve maintenance metrics.
• Maintain strong field presence with safety and environmental controls.
• Support new equipment installations and integration into maintenance programs.
