Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma and at least five years’ experience as an operator in construction.
• Active member in good standing of the Operating Engineers Union.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership capabilities.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and equipment operation standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to new operators to develop and improve their equipment operation skills.
• Collaborate with experienced operators to keep skills up-to-date and aware of new techniques.
• Build and maintain relationships with operators, mechanics, superintendents, and management for effective field coordination.
• Offer recommendations on operator placement to optimize company and operator fit.
• Inspect equipment to ensure proper maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ensure operators understand proper equipment processes and report deficiencies to supervisors.
• Monitor equipment use to ensure operation within rated capacities.
• Maintain relationships with Local Unions and trade schools to source qualified operator candidates.
