Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma with at least five years’ experience as an operator in construction industry.
• A member in good standing of the Operating Engineers Union.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to new operators to develop and improve equipment operation skills.
• Work with experienced operators to keep their equipment operating skills up-to-date.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and management for effective field coordination.
• Provide recommendations regarding operator placement to optimize company and operator fit.
• Inspect equipment to ensure proper maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ensure operators understand proper processes and report deficiencies promptly.
• Monitor equipment usage to ensure operation within rated capacities.
• Maintain relationships with Local Unions, trade schools, and skilled craft community to recruit qualified operators.
