Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma with at least five years’ experience as an operator in construction.
• Member in good standing of the Operating Engineers Union.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledgeable in MSHA and OSHA regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide training to new operators to develop and improve their equipment operation skills.
• Work with experienced operators to keep their skills up-to-date.
• Maintain good working relationships with operators, mechanics, superintendents and management.
• Inspect equipment to ensure proper maintenance and safety procedures.
• Ensure operators understand processes and raise deficiencies to supervisors.
• Monitor equipment to ensure it operates within rated capacities.
• Engage with Local Unions, trade schools, and skilled craft community to hire operators.
