Job summary

Calor Gas Ltd. is recruiting a Field Based Assistant Gas Engineer to support the Gas Network/Service Engineer in installing, replacing and maintaining underground pipework at customer premises and along public highways.

The ideal candidate will work well in a team, have strong customer service skills, and be able to prioritise tasks under tight schedules. Travel is required, and a full UK driving licence is essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and eligibility to work in the UK.
• Experience in a similar gas engineer role or gas network environment.
• Willingness to travel and flexible to field-based work.
• Organised with ability to prioritise in tight schedules.
• Ideal: EUSR SHEA Gas safety qualification.
• Ideal: NRSWA certificate for operatives.
• Ideal: NPORS plant operators qualification.

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times wearing relevant PPE.
• Assist the Gas Network/Service Engineer with all aspects of the role.
• Domestic & commercial site work including installations, replacement and maintenance of underground pipe work.
• Operate Pneumatic tooling in a safe manner.
• Use mechanical excavators.
• Use of breathing apparatus.
• Travel will be required as part of the role.
