Job summary

Calor Gas Ltd. in Kings Lynn (East Anglia) is recruiting an Assistant Gas Engineer to support the Gas Network/Service Engineer in installing, replacing and maintaining underground pipework at customer sites and on public highways.

The ideal candidate will have a full UK driving licence, be eligible to work in the UK, and show experience in a similar role. Travel is required, and relevant safety qualifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, replace and maintain underground pipework and equipment on customer premises and public highways.
• Work safely with PPE and pneumatic tooling; operate mechanical excavators.
• Assist the Gas Network/Service Engineer with all aspects of the role.
• Travel to various sites as required.

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Gas Engineer who will play a vital role in assisting the Gas Network/Service Engineer to install, replace and maintain underground pipework and associated equipment at customer’s premises and public highways.

The Ideal candidate will enjoy working as part of a team and possess strong customer service skills. They will also be able to prioritise well and work to tight schedules.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Work safely at all times wearing relevant PPE
• Assist the Gas Network/Service Engineer with all aspects of the role
• Domestic & Commercial site work including installations, replacement and maintenance of underground pipe work.
• Operating Pneumatic tooling in a safe manner
• Use mechanical excavators
• Use of breathing apparatus
• Travel will be required as part of the role.

As such we would like you to:

• Hold a full, valid UK driving licence
• Must be eligible to work unrestricted in the UK
• Experience in a similar role
• Be flexible and willing to travel
• Be an organised individual
• Ideally hold a EUSR SHEA Gas safety qualification
• Ideally hold a NRSWA certificate for operatives
• Ideally Hold a NPORS plant operators qualification
