Job summary

POM Wonderful in Del Rey, CA is seeking a Seasonal Fruit Evaluator to monitor pre-harvest and harvest for quality and yield, estimating crop quantities and assisting with harvest sequencing.

The role requires familiarity with food safety laws, strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to work in field conditions; travel to multiple ranches is frequent; training of seasonal workers and data management are included.

Qualifications

• Fruit Evaluation experience with agriculture production/manufacturing setting.
• Training or designation in QA or food safety desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor pre-harvest and harvest for quality and quantity.
• Monitor crop volumes and fruit sizing across ranches.
• Track trees for in-field fruit cataloging of characteristics and growth.
• Assist in harvest sequence and direction of harvest crews.
• Learn fruit sampling techniques for fruit grading and maturity analysis.
• Assist in data entry and management of scientific resources.
• Training and supervision of seasonal workers.
• Frequent travel to and from fields; vehicle and fuel provided.
