Job summary

Peraton is seeking a full-time background investigator to join our team near Wesley Chapel, FL. This role requires you to reside within 15 miles of the city center and to complete a 6-7 week combined virtual/in-person training to be certified in Federal Investigative Standards.

Qualifications

• 4 years of general work experience or a bachelor's degree.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship.
• Daily travel locally and outside of primary work area as needed.
• Home office required.
• Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY) may be required.
• Must reside within the stated mileage requirement.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
• Typing capabilities (40+ WPM) and ability to use multiple computer programs.
• Strong writing and reporting skills.
• Professional attire required.
• Able to lift up to 10 pounds and endure long periods of standing.

Responsibilities

• Complete 6-7 week training to be certified in Federal Investigative Standards.
• Travel daily for in-person background investigations.
• Schedule and conduct face-to-face interviews in the designated area.
• Perform record searches at police agencies, courthouses, and institutions.
• Type and report information in a government system.
• Work independently and as part of a team with a Field Manager.
