Job summary

VARIETY CARE INC in Clinton, OK seeks a Family Preservation Specialist to deliver in-home social services under the Oklahoma Human Services contract. You will foster connections between children and caregivers, help navigate relations with state agencies, and strive to keep children safely in their homes or reunify families after placement.

The role requires independent case management, use of evidence‑based practices including motivational interviewing and SafeCare, and mentoring of colleagues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related human services field and one year of related experience.
• Proficiency in MS Word processing software and intermediate general computer skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate with English-speaking clients.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license; in‑state travel is required.
• Must complete NorthCare Training within 30 days; CPR, First Aid and Therapeutic Options certifications, or obtain them within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate complex cases independently using evidence-based interventions and case management strategies.
• Provide mentorship to colleagues regarding program expectations, quality service delivery, and multi-disciplinary care.
• Advocate for families with schools and community agencies; arrange follow-up services as needed.
• Complete intake documentation within 24 hours and progress notes within 72 hours; plan discharges within 24 hours of signature.
• Travel up to 50% of the time and participate in required trainings and meetings.
