Job summary

Van Leeuwen Ice Cream is hiring a full-time Facilities Repair and Maintenance Technician to support over 40 scoop shops in the NY metro area, including NY, NJ, and CT. The role is field-based with weekend shifts as needed and requires being organized, hands-on, and customer-focused.

Based in Brooklyn but traveling regularly, you will report to the Director of Facilities and contribute to store openings, renovations, and preventive maintenance while ensuring safe, clean, and functional

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in general repairs, facilities maintenance, construction, or related trade.
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to determine practical, cost-effective repair solutions.
• Ability to work independently and manage a daily schedule across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

• Respond to maintenance and repair requests across ~40 locations in NY/CT/NJ.
• Travel between locations, working in active retail environments.
• Move tools, materials, equipment, and parts between locations as needed.
• Perform routine repairs, preventative maintenance, and minor installations.
