Job summary

Arcadis is seeking an entry-level Geologist or Environmental Scientist to join our Richmond, VA team. The role combines field and office work, with up to 80% field activities, including drilling oversight and groundwater sampling.

You will work under mentorship within the Resilience Environment team to advance your professional growth. You will assist with environmental site characterization, investigations, and remediation tasks, while developing reports, data analysis, and project strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or closely related field as required.
• Master's degree in Geology or closely related field preferred; OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Task Managers in planning and executing environmental site characterization, investigation, and remediation tasks.
• Conduct fieldwork including soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling; oversee drilling for soil sampling and groundwater wells.
• Oversee subcontractors, prepare reports, work plans, and cost estimates; support budget and schedule management.
• Travel regionally within the U.S. for field activities and incident response as needed.
