Qualifications

• 1 year experience in the Substance Abuse Field and/or Mental Health Field.
• Valid driver’s license with 2 points or less.
• Own vehicle for transportation.

Responsibilities

• Support families to prevent drug misuse.
• Promote child safety by identifying substance use.
• Transport clients to appointments.
• Provide liaison and educational services to DFS.
• Participate in weekly case meetings.

Skills

Knowledge of screening tools and therapy principles

Considerable knowledge of the population served

Ability to screen clients for appropriate services

Crisis intervention skills

Skill in establishing rapport with clients

Ability to work independently

Effective oral communication

Effective written communication

Education

High school diploma or GED equivalent

Certification within 18 months
