Job summary

Family Service Association of Greater Elgin is seeking a Part-Time Engagement Specialist (ES) to provide recovery‑oriented crisis services in the Elgin area. The role will work closely with Crisis Specialists, offering case management, advocacy, and linkage to services within 90 days of initial assessment.

The ES will maintain professionalism and ethics, participate in ongoing training, and cover varied shifts including weekends, overnights, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; relevant experience in crisis services a plus.
• Strong communication and documentation skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Trauma-informed, recovery-oriented approach with focus on client advocacy.

Responsibilities

• Respond to crisis calls in partnership with a Crisis Specialist to provide peer support, information, and advocacy.
• Provide case management and connect clients to services within 90 days of assessment.
• Educate, support, and mentor individuals and families in the SASS program.
• Assist clients to make informed treatment decisions and coordinate referrals.
