Job summary

Divcon is seeking a hands-on Control Technician to support DDC/BAS and PLC projects nationwide. You will perform installation verification, point‑to‑point checkout, startup support, field documentation, and issue escalation under supervision.

Expect regular travel with per diem, lodging, and travel accommodations provided. Requires strong communication, documentation discipline, and experience with various control platforms.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of controls installer experience or 1–2 years in the HVAC controls industry; equivalent training may be considered.
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems and basic controls strategies.
• Understanding of low‑voltage control circuits and safe field practices.
• Familiarity with DDC/BAS or PLC platforms such as Tridium Niagara, Delta enteliWEB, Distech, Siemens Desigo, JCI Metasys, Schneider EcoStruxure, Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens TIA Portal, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Start up, commission, and re‑commission customer systems that use DDC or PLC technology.
• Troubleshoot or guide other teams; coordinate with subcontractors and trades for proper operation.
• Verify field installation against drawings, schedules, and project docs; flag discrepancies to supervisors.
• Provide turnkey project delivery on site systems such as Unitery/VAV/FPB/FCU, small AHUs/CRAHs, basic CW/HW systems.
• Perform verification checks per L2–L4 requirements and support L5/IST commissioning for datacenter projects.
• Understand and verify communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LON, EtherNet/IP, RS-485, Ethernet); confirm topology against docs.
• Support commissioning by executing installation verification, point‑to‑point checkout and QC forms; escalate if steps fail.
• Document work daily in QC forms, commissioning docs, and customer systems; log deficiencies and drawing issues.
• Maintain familiarity with AEC/construction processes and submittals.
