Job summary

Flint Hills Resources Pipeline and Terminals is seeking an Inspector/Construction Manager to join our Operations Group. This on-site role provides leadership for cleaning, inspection, and repair projects involving storage tanks and pipelines, with a focus on safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness.

The position requires 80% field time, travel up to 75–90%, and coordination of contractors, permit administration, and quality control to ensure drawings and specifications are met.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in project planning and jobsite safety management in an industrial setting.
• Experience with API 650 tank construction.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willing to travel up to 75-90%, including nights and holidays.
• Able to meet physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute project plans while ensuring safety, responsibility, and cost-effectiveness.
• Support cleaning, inspection, and repair of storage tanks and equipment.
• Develop detailed written work plans and procedures.
• Administer daily safe work permits to contractors and set clear expectations.
• Provide quality control oversight to meet drawings, specs, and business expectations.
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and site personnel for timely execution.
• Maintain and issue project turnover documentation (red-lined drawings, OQ records, inspection docs, changes).
• Spend at least 80% of time in the field, including nights, weekends, holidays, and travel.
