Job summary

Flint Hills Resources in Texas seeks an Inspector/Construction Manager to lead on-site cleaning, inspection, and repair projects for storage tanks and pipeline stations, ensuring safe, compliant, and cost-effective execution.

The role requires extensive field time (80%), travel flexibility, and hands-on development of work plans, permits, and QA/QC oversight while coordinating contractors and documenting turnover per project drawings and specs.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in project planning, jobsite safety management, contractor coordination and oversight in an industrial setting.
• Experience with API 650 tank construction.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Willing to travel up to 75-90%, including nights and holidays.
• Willing and able to meet physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Execute project plans developed by the FHR Projects Group while ensuring work is completed safely, responsibly, and cost-effectively.
• Support the cleaning, inspection, and repair of storage tanks and related equipment.
• Develop detailed written work plans and procedures outlining how site work will be executed.
• Administer daily safe work permits to contractors and set clear expectations around activities, hazards, and risk mitigation.
• Provide quality control oversight to ensure work meets drawings, specifications, and business expectations.
• Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and site personnel to support safe, timely, high-quality execution.
• Maintain and issue project turnover documentation, including red-lined drawings, OQ records, inspection documentation, and change requests.
• Spend significant time in the field (80%), including nights, weekends, holidays, and travel as needed.
