Job summary

Oklahoma Department Of Human Services in Sapulpa, Oklahoma seeks a Child Welfare Assistant to support paraprofessional case management and client services within the civil service framework.

The role involves scheduling, transportation coordination, and referrals to program areas, while assisting in problem resolution and home visits as required by the court or service plans. A valid driver’s license and extensive travel are needed.

Qualifications

• Six months of general office clerical work experience, caring for children in a licensed day care facility, or public contact work.
• One of the following substitutions: six months of technical or vocational training, or 15 college semester hours.

Responsibilities

• Complete a full range of paraprofessional work including child welfare case management support.
• Schedule appointments for doctor visits, family visitations, court appearances, and arrange transportation.
• Coordinate referrals to other program areas or courts; assist in problem resolution and home visits as required.
• Interview clients and families and report findings to the assigned Child Welfare Specialist.
• Provide administrative support: input case documentation, compile data, schedule meetings.
• Advise clients of available child welfare services and resources; refer to community resources for assistance.
• Assist in coordinating services with law enforcement, courts, and other entities; prepare reports for the courts.
• May assist in advocating for clients to obtain services and maintain communication among client, providers, and families.
