Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Controls Systems Technician in Indiana to perform system commissioning using our configuration and commissioning tools at customer sites.

This field-based position troubleshoots HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls issues and responds to warranty calls to keep buildings running efficiently. You will load controller software, calibrate systems, document work, and communicate progress to management, contractors, and customers while upholding safety

Qualifications

• Demonstrated technical aptitude.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to use hand and power tools such as drills and saws.
• Attention to detail.
• Effective communication and listening skills.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls systems.
• Ability to use basic electronic test equipment for calibration and diagnostics.
• Ability to meet any local licensing requirements for mounting and termination of low-voltage devices, where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform assigned system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools.
• Load system-level controller software.
• Perform basic commissioning and system diagnostics from system-level controllers to end devices such as sensors and actuators.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems.
• Respond to basic warranty calls and provide service-related support at customer sites.
• Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment.
• Complete commissioning documentation, time sheets, expense reports, on-site documentation, and as-built updates.
• Communicate job progress, issues, arrival, and completion status with management, contractors, and customers.
• Provide recommendations and solutions to help improve facility efficiency and support quoting needs.
• Follow all safety standards and attend required safety training.
• Nice to have: two years of experience installing electronic and/or mechanical systems.
• Nice to have: experience with building automation or controls commissioning.
