James & Whitney Co. is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our field-based team. You'll travel between active job sites, support project operations, and ensure safety and quality on every site.

This hands-on role offers training from experienced leaders, opportunities to learn construction management skills, and a clear path toward becoming a Project Manager. The position is full-time, on-site, with a company vehicle provided and daily field work at exterior remodeling projects in Maine.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Comfortable driving between multiple job sites.
• Ability to lift up to 90 pounds and perform physical work outdoors.
• Comfortable working in varying weather conditions.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced construction environment.
• A positive attitude and a 'whatever it takes' mindset.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site point of contact for crews, customers, and deliveries.
• Travel between active job sites to support project operations.
• Ensure materials are on-site and projects stay on schedule.
• Monitor installation quality and maintain safe, organized job sites.
• Oversee subcontracted crews to ensure safe, professional work.
• Keep the Project Manager informed with real-time progress and changes.
• Capture project documentation with photos, videos, and notes.
• Verify weather-tightness, security, and site cleanup at day end.
• Assist with material deliveries, waste disposal, and equipment coordination.
• Represent the company professionally with customers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
