Job summary

Dept of Family & Protectve Svc in Texas seeks CPI Alternative Response Worker Trainee to conduct field investigations and protect vulnerable children. You will work in mobile units, interviewing families, assessing risk, and coordinating with law enforcement and schools.

Travel up to 60% and flexible hours are common. Essential duties include documenting findings, collaborating with partners, and adhering to state policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social, human or protective services related fields required.
• Two years of relevant work experience may substitute education for AR Specialist I or II.
• Experience in child protective services or related settings is preferred.
• Knowledge of documentation systems and reporting requirements is essential.

Responsibilities

• Determine causes and factors of abuse/neglect to assess risk for children.
• Collaborate with families to identify strengths, needs and safety actions.
• Enter contact and narratives into the required information system within deadlines.
• Develop and maintain relationships with families, CPS staff, and law enforcement.
