Job summary

Pathways to Housing DC in Washington, DC seeks a Certified Addictions Counselor to join the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team. You will deliver housing and treatment support, focusing on harm reduction and client-centered care, with strong collaboration among psychiatrists, nurses and social workers.

Requirements include DC Licensure as a Certified Addiction Specialist, at least one year in social services or housing work, excellent communication, and a driver's license with access to a

Qualifications

• Harm reduction theory/applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Driver's license and access to a vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with client in formulating an Individual Recovery Plan (IRP).
• Provide outreach, case management, counseling, advocacy and services in various environments.
• Deliver tailored services in housing, employment, health and relapse prevention.
• Maintain written and computerized records and program documentation.
• Coordinate referrals to community services and advocate client participation.
• Lead groups and workshops on identified client needs.
• Spend ~80% of time in the field providing direct services.
