Position Summary
Assists with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of all Automated Material Handling systems. Previous material handling system experience is not required for this position.
Responsibilities
Uses advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and repair mechanical problems.
- Diagnoses mechanical and basic electrical problems using technical drawings.
- Minimize downtime and unsafe conditions by performing preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Conduct routine inspections of material handling equipment.
- Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment issues.
- Document maintenance activities and repairs.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Assist in inventory management and spare parts tracking.
- Follow all OSHA and internal safety standards.
- Must possess a passport along with the ability to travel to Canada and Mexico.
- Travels up to 75%
Qualifications
- 3 years' experience working as an automotive technician, HVAC system, elevator repair, electrician, building maintenance or experience working with machinery or equivalent experience
- 1-2 years working in material handling industry preferred but not required
- Experience with CMMS platform a plus
- Working knowledge of handheld and power tools and how to use them
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and basic electrical defects
- Ability to interpret both mechanical drawings
- Self-motivated, organized and detail-oriented
- Knowledge of safe industrial work practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service orientation
- Ability to work in and contribute to a team setting
- Intermediate computer skills including MS Office
- Ability to follow maintenance manuals and procedures to repair equipment
- Ability to assist in the installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of all material handling equipment and components is a plus
