Connexis Search Group is seeking a Field Automation Scientist to support workflow automation solutions in various R&D labs. The role includes installing and commissioning lab automation systems while providing customer support both on-site and remotely, with approximately 50% travel required.

The ideal candidate will possess a STEM-related bachelor’s degree—preferably in Chemistry—and hands-on experience with lab systems, alongside proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python.

Job description

Field Automation Scientist (FAS) to support workflow automation solutions for Materials Science, Biopharma, Biotech and related R&D labs. Responsible for installing, commissioning, and supporting complex integrated lab automation systems while training and partnering closely with customers. The position focuses on enabling high-throughput experimentation workflows, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, and acting as a customer advocate through both on‑site and remote support, with travel around 50%.

Fine salary (circa $140K), bonus, car allowance and health benefits.

Key qualifications include: a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (Chemistry related and graduate degree preferred), hands‑on applications/service/technical support experience with complex lab automation systems, and proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Python.
