Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a Field Support Technician III to join our Automation team. The role focuses on on-site installation, service, support, and training of automation and robotic systems for diverse clients, requiring hands-on mechanical, electrical, and PC knowledge.

Responsibilities include leading on-site installation and training, generating detailed system reports, and collaborating with internal teams to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• Troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and servicing technical equipment.
• Proven history of successful customer interaction and high levels of service.
• ERP Experience, SAP preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalency required.
• Associates degree in microelectronics or engineering preferred.
• 5-8 years of field service experience or related experience required.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site installation, repair, and training for Automation, including Robotics, Vision, and Motion Control.
• Produce detailed reports on system data, performance, time and cost.
• Collaborate with Operations, Project Management, Engineering, Quality, Production, and Sales.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, diagrams, and drawings.
• Perform on-site fabrication, assembly, installation, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Apply validation methods (FAT/SAT) to meet requirements.
• Travel to customer sites as needed (10–30%).
