Job summary

ANDRITZ in Arlington, TX, is seeking a Field Automation Engineer to provide automation and controls expertise for the North American Field Service organization. The role covers installation, commissioning, startup, troubleshooting, optimization, and lifecycle service of municipal dewatering equipment with emphasis on PLCs, HMIs, instrumentation, and control systems.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Automation Engineering or equivalent.
3+ years in industrial automation, controls, or field service.
Strong PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
Experience with HMIs, VFDs, and industrial networks.
Ability to read electrical schematics, P&IDs, and drawings.
Willingness to travel ~100% across North America.

Responsibilities

Support installation, startup, commissioning, testing, and optimization of equipment.
Configure and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, VFD, instrumentation, and networks.
Perform electrical and controls verification prior to startup.
Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and performance testing.
Mentor field technicians on automation and best practices.
Develop and maintain standards and documentation.
Provide strong customer support and field service reports.
