Confidential client in Farmington Hills, MI seeks a Commissioning Engineer to support machine installations, startups, troubleshooting, and customer acceptance across North America. You will work hands-on with high-precision automation equipment, read electrical schematics, and collaborate with engineering and project teams.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commissioning, field service, controls, automation, or machine build experience.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Experience troubleshooting industrial automation equipment.
• PLC knowledge (Siemens or Allen-Bradley preferred).
• Mechanical aptitude with strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Commission high-precision automated manufacturing equipment.
• Perform machine startup, debugging, testing, and validation.
• Troubleshoot electrical, PLC, HMI, servo, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Work alongside customers during installation and production launch.
• Verify machine performance meets engineering specifications.
• Support FAT and SAT activities.
• Provide operator and maintenance training.
• Document startup activities and service reports.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Controls, Mechanical Assembly, and Project Management teams.
• Identify process improvements to improve machine performance and reliability.
