Job summary

Progressive is seeking an auto damage claims adjuster for a field-based role in California. You will inspect vehicles, write estimates, set timelines, and negotiate with body shops while managing claims in your assigned area. Occasional office reporting may be required.

You will drive within your territory, with a company car provided, and may cover assignments outside your area as workload allows. Competitive pay with benefits and incentives are offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience with 1 year in appraisal/estimatics or insurance
• {OR} Associate's degree and 3+ years relevant experience with 1 year appraisal/estimatics or insurance
• {OR} Bachelor's degree and 1+ year appraisal/estimatics or insurance experience
• Valid driver's license, auto insurance and compliance with Progressive driving standards/policies

Responsibilities

• Complete vehicle inspections, write estimates and loss evaluations
• Negotiate repair process with body shops
• Document claim information and make decisions per standards and laws
• Evaluate and handle claim payments and resolution of claims without payments
• Review and determine validity of supplement requests
