National General, part of The Allstate Corporation, is seeking a Field Auto Appraiser to join our Claims team. This remote, territory-based role handles auto claims both virtually and in the field across the Asheville, NC market.

The ideal candidate has experience inspecting vehicles, preparing accurate damage estimates using CCC ONE, and can work with customers and repair facilities to support timely claim resolution while delivering exceptional service.

Qualifications

• Experience as Auto Damage Appraiser, Field Appraiser, Auto Claims Adjuster, body shop, collision repair, or automotive repair facility.
• Proficiency using CCC ONE estimating software.
• Experience conducting in-person vehicle inspections and preparing accurate repair estimates.

Responsibilities

• Possesses strong estimating fundamentals to create or audit damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses of all severities.
• Understands policy types written by the company and applies them in settlements.
• Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments, and documents activities across complex files.
• Evaluates settlement options by reviewing regulatory compliance and fair claims practices; selects best option.
• Builds mastered relationships with internal and external customers across multiple lines.

Responsible for creating or auditing a comprehensive estimate of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims in either the auto or specialty lines leading to the proper disposition. Responsible for training, mentoring, controlling quality and providing technical assistance on material damage claims.

National General is seeking a Field Auto Appraiser to join our Claims team. This remote, territory-based role handles auto claims both virtually and in the field throughout the Asheville, NC market, including Hendersonville, Waynesville, and surrounding western North Carolina areas. The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting vehicles, preparing accurate damage estimates using CCC ONE, and working closely with customers and repair facilities to support timely and effective claim resolution while delivering exceptional customer service.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Auto Damage Appraiser, Field Appraiser, Auto Claims Adjuster, body shop, collision repair, or automotive repair facility experience
• Proficiency using CCC ONE estimating software.
• Experience conducting in-person vehicle inspections and preparing accurate repair estimates.
• Strong understanding of auto repair processes, vehicle construction, and damage evaluation.
• Ability to effectively negotiate with repair facilities, vendors, and customers.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and travel within the assigned territory.

• Builds mastered relationships with both internal and external customers across multiple lines

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This job does not have supervisory duties.

As a requirement of employment, individuals who currently hold an active insurance license must terminate all existing appointments prior to onboarding and must not hold any outside appointments at any point during employment. Applicants seeking an adjuster role who also hold a resident producer license must formally surrender that license when instructed to by the licensing team.
