Job summary

Cook County Government in Chicago is seeking a Field Auditor (County Auditor) to perform diverse financial, compliance, and operational audits across county agencies. You will collaborate on audit plans and prepare detailed programs and reports, ensuring timely, within-budget completion.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance/IT or related field, two years of audit experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to travel among county locations as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting, finance, IT, or related field.
• Two years of audit, accounting, finance, compliance, risk control, or related experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience accepted.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diverse financial, compliance, and operational audits for County agencies or businesses.
• Develop audit plans, objectives, scope, and audit procedures with the team.
• Prepare audit reports and management letters; ensure timely completion and within budget.
• Communicate results to leadership and assist with follow-up on recommendations.
